After delighting over 300,000 spectators in Bordeaux and Paris, LUMINISCENCE continues its tour and settles in the heart of Old Lille for a series of exceptional dates in the emblematic Notre-Dame-de-la-Treille. For the first time, experience a show where history, 360-degree video mapping and live music combine to reveal this building as you've never seen it before. Light projections amplify the façade of Notre-Dame-de-la-Treille, revealing every architectural detail with finesse, from its imposing base to the top of its vaults rising to over 30 meters. The construction of the Notre-Dame-de-la-Treille was completed in 1990 after a century and a half of turbulent history. Loved and loathed, the cathedral today stands as a testament to the eras through which it has passed. By combining the boldness of contemporary architecture with the majesty of its medieval origins, it has found its place as a timeless symbol of the city.

Accompanied by the enchanting notes of an exceptional soloist, allow yourself to be carried away on a dreamlike walk to discover the chapels of the cathedral. During this stroll, visual effects transform these settings to bring to life the adventure of a monument that has shaped the history of the city and Flanders. An immersive journey where our advanced technologies metamorphose the spaces to reveal the treasures of La Treille.

The Nave: A 360-Degree Immersive Seated Show

Sit comfortably in the nave, look up, and listen as the voice of La Treille guides you on a journey beyond time. You will experience a 360-degree show, where history, video mapping, and spatialized 3D live music come together to unveil the legend of these sacred places.

Act I: The Awakening of a Lost Dream

In the turmoil of the 19th century, a bold vision gives birth to a titanic project defying time and conventions.

With a choir for a 360° experience

A musical performance designed to magnify Notre-Dame de la Treille cathedral.

The celestial voices of the choir and the power of the organ merge live to sublimate the Luminiscence soundtrack. Thanks to a system of 22 speakers strategically positioned under the nave and 3D sound spatialization, notes, voices and percussion travel through the building, offering the comfortably seated audience unprecedented sound immersion.

Only 2 dates remain to attend an exceptional evening with the LUMINISCENCE orchestra.

Under the baton of conductor Pierre-Alexis Touzeau, the musicians of the LUMINISCENCE orchestra, accompanied by the finest choirs in the region and the grand organ of Notre-Dame de la Treille, will reinterpret classical and sacred masterpieces.

From Vivaldi to Fauré, including Holst, Handel, Gounod, and Vierne, these artists will take the audience on a journey across centuries, from the Middle Ages to the present day. To reveal the full richness of the cathedral, a three-dimensional spatial sound system will be set up to carry the notes throughout the space and envelop the audience in total sound immersion.

Our commitment

Luminiscence is committed to the preservation of French heritage by donating a portion of its proceeds to the restoration of the Cathedral's Treasure and its enhancement in the Neo-Gothic Crypt.

Context

Newly restored and open to the public since 2022, the Neo-Gothic Crypt will soon house the cathedral’s Treasure, which constitutes an exceptional testimony to sacred art and liturgical goldsmithing. Among these items are monstrances, chalices, and reliquaries. These treasures await rediscovery in optimal conditions for display and preservation.

Restoration Objective

To allow the public to contemplate this Treasure, so important to Lille’s heritage, in a place fully designed for this purpose, with a custom-made scenography.

Notre-Dame-de-la-Treille Cathedral

Its Story: Notre-Dame-de-la-Treille is a neo-Gothic cathedral whose construction began in 1856. Its audacious architecture reinvents the emblematic style of medieval sacred buildings, then considered the natural expression of Christianity, and is full of mystery and poetry. In the 11th century, the Church was built in honor of the Virgin Mary, a dedication that finds its roots in a local legend. The monument takes its name from a small statue that has miraculous properties ascribed to it, enshrined in a cage with bars reminiscent of vines. While the initial project was intended to correct the excesses of the Revolution and revive the expression of an ancestral and united France inherited from the Middle Ages, it was also embraced as a celebration of progress and new artistic techniques. Expressionist stained glass and art nouveau motifs are grafted onto the structure in a harmonious marriage of tradition and modernity. Nowhere is this fusion more evident than in the translucent marble facade designed by engineer Peter Rice, responsible for iconic designs such as the Sydney Opera House and the Georges Pompidou Centre in Paris.

About the experience

What can I expect from the event?

With 360-degree video mapping and live music, LUMINISCENCE takes you on an immersive journey into the history of Lille's Notre-Dame de la Treille Cathedral. The music reverberates beautifully throughout this sacred space as projections light up the walls and bring them to life, highlighting the cathedral’s architectural beauty. This breathtaking audiovisual spectacle reveals the cathedral's secrets, exposing the architectural craftsmanship of its builders, its spellbinding light effects, and its extraordinary acoustics.

How long does it last?

The experience lasts around 60 minutes. It consists of an immersive journey through the cathedral's ambulatory, followed by a seated show in the nave.

Where will it take place?

The experience takes place inside Notre-Dame-de-la-Treille Cathedral, Place Gilleson, 59800 Lille.

What time should I arrive at the experience?

We recommend that you arrive at the time indicated on your ticket. The doors will close 30 minutes after the time indicated.

Is there an age requirement?

The experience is open to all ages, but children under 4 years of age must be seated on an adult's lap. Children over 4 must have a ticket.

Is it possible to sit down?

Yes. Once the walk is over, you'll be invited to sit down in the nave to enjoy the show.

Is it possible to take photos or film videos during the experience?

Yes, you can take photos and film videos with your camera's flash switched off. However, cameras with telephoto lenses are prohibited.

Is it possible to buy food and drink on site?

No, unfortunately it is not possible to buy food and drink on site.

No, but there are public toilets nearby.

No, there are no cloakrooms for public use. As the cathedral is not heated, we recommend you keep your outdoor clothes with you.

Can I get to the experience by public transport?

The cathedral is accessible via public transport:Bus: 14, 18, L91, 9, NVL, 10, 50 / Metro: M1, M2 / Tram

Is the space accessible to PRMs?

Yes, the cathedral is accessible to people with reduced mobility via an elevator. If you are in a wheelchair, our team will help you easily navigate your wheelchair to the seating area.

Can I leave and return to the event?

No, all exits are final. Remember to use the toilet outside the cathedral before the show starts.

Will it be possible to buy a ticket on site?

Depending on the number of places remaining at each event, it may be possible to buy a ticket on site.

Where can I buy tickets?

Tickets will be available to purchase on the Fever website from July 11. Tickets can also be purchased via the Fever app, available on Google Play and Apple Store.

Is it possible to request a refund?

Tickets cannot be refunded within 72 hours of the event, except in cases of force majeure.

Are tickets valid for other event dates?

Tickets can be exchanged up to 72 hours before the event. Contact Fever customer service.

Do I need to print my ticket?

There's no need to print out your ticket. You just need to show the PDF document on your phone at the entrance to the hall so that staff can validate the code.

I can't find my ticket. What can I do?

You will receive your ticket in PDF format by email after purchase. You can also download it from the 'Tickets' section of the Fever app. If you haven't already installed it, you can download it from the Apple Store or Google Play.
