After captivating over 300.000 spectators in Bordeaux, Paris, and Lille, LUMINISCENCE continues its tour, making a stop in the heart of Nice for a series of exceptional performances at the iconic Basilica of Notre-Dame-de-l'Assomption. For the first time, experience a show where history, 360-degree video mapping, and live music come together to reveal this magnificent structure as you've never seen it before. The luminous projections extend the basilica, elegantly highlighting every architectural detail, from its imposing base to the top of its towers, soaring over 20 meters high.

Part One: A Musical Immersion by the Glow of Candles

An intimate moment where each note, each gesture, each breath, carried by candlelight, reveals the unique essence of each artist. For this first part, a soloist with rare sensitivity and perfect mastery of emotion will offer you a repertoire of striking intensity.

Jérémy Bertini, a countertenor with a celestial voice, evokes the sound of the historic castrati singers.

Marjolaine Alziary, a multidisciplinary artist, blends cello, vocals, and theater into poetic and captivating performances.

David Amar, a sound explorer, creates musical landscapes of rare intensity with his saxophone and the fujara, a two-meter-tall Slovak flute.

Glen Rouxel, a virtuoso violinist with a fiery temperament and profound sensitivity, reinterprets great classical works in a neo-romantic and impressionistic style.

Part Two: The 360° Immersive Show

Sit comfortably in the nave, look up, and listen as the voice of the spirit guardian of the place guides you on a timeless journey. You are about to experience a 360-degree event, where history, video mapping, and live 3D-spatialized music come together to unveil the legend of this sacred monument.

Act I: The Vision of a New Identity

From the annexation of Nice to France arises an ambitious project: a grand neo-Gothic church. The young architect Charles Lenormand rises to the challenge, inspired by the most beautiful Gothic cathedrals in the country.

Act II: Building Through the Storms

Despite historical upheavals, construction continues. From the foundations to the first stained-glass windows, and even through the 1887 earthquake, the structure grows, embodying the budding of a new culture in Nice.

Act III: A Vibrant Basilica

This church becomes the beating heart of Nice, witnessing both joy and sorrow. From its bells to its organ, it resonates with history and music.

Act IV: Legacy and Future

Elevated to the status of a basilica, Notre-Dame de l'Assomption symbolizes unity and hope. Facing modern challenges, it invites each person to carry forward its message of gathering and solidarity.

With a choir for a 360° experience

The celestial voices of the choir and the power of the organ merge live to elevate the soundtrack LUMINISCENCE.

Thanks to a system of 22 speakers strategically positioned under the nave and 3D sound spatialization, the notes, voices, and percussion travel throughout the building, offering the comfortably seated audience an unprecedented immersive sound experience.

Background

The Basilica of Notre-Dame de l'Assomption, a sacred and iconic monument in the city of Nice, welcomes several hundred thousand visitors each year. Due to this high volume of visitors, a modernization project is underway to update its visitor facilities to contemporary standards.

Restoration Goal

The project aims to renew visitor facilities, including seating and sound equipment. These improvements are designed to offer visitors a comfortable experience that meets today’s expectations.

Its Story:

The Basilica of Notre-Dame-de-l'Assomption in Nice is a major religious building, constructed between 1864 and 1868 following Nice’s annexation to France. Located on Avenue Jean Médecin, it was designed by architect Louis Lenormand in a neo-Gothic style, inspired by the cathedrals of northern France.

With its two 31-meter towers and large rose window, it stands as an important religious and architectural symbol for the city. The basilica is dedicated to the Assumption of the Virgin Mary, celebrated on August 15. Classified as a historical monument in 1975, it has undergone several restorations to preserve its splendor. It continues to be a central site for both the spiritual and cultural life of Nice.

What can I expect from the event?

With 360-degree video mapping and live music, LUMINISCENCE takes you on an immersive journey into the history of the Basilica of Notre-Dame-de-l'Assomption in Nice. How long does it last?

The experience lasts around 60 minutes. It consists of an immersive journey through the basilica's ambulatory, followed by a seated show in the nave.

What time should I arrive at the experience?

The doors will open 20 minutes before the time indicated on the ticket. No late arrivals will be accepted.

Is there an age requirement?

The experience is open to all ages, but children under 4 years of age must be seated on an adult's lap. Children over 4 must have a ticket.

Is it possible to sit down?

Yes. Once the walk is over, you'll be invited to sit down in the nave to enjoy the show.

Is it possible to take photos or film videos during the experience?

Yes, you can take photos and film videos with your camera's flash switched off. However, cameras with telephoto lenses are prohibited.

Is it possible to buy food and drink on site?

No, unfortunately it is not possible to buy food and drink on site.

Will there be toilets on site?

No, but there are public toilets nearby.

Is there a cloakroom on site?

No, there are no cloakrooms for public use. As the basilica is not heated, we recommend you keep your outdoor clothes with you.

Is the space accessible to PRMs?

Yes, the basilica is accessible to people with reduced mobility. If you are in a wheelchair, our team will help you easily navigate your wheelchair to the seating area.

Can I leave and return to the event?

No, all exits are final. Remember to use the toilet outside the basilica before the show starts.

Will it be possible to buy a ticket on site?

Depending on the number of places remaining at each event, it may be possible to buy a ticket on site.

Where can I buy tickets?

Tickets will be available to purchase on the Fever website from July 11. Tickets can also be purchased via the Fever app, available on Google Play and Apple Store.

Is it possible to request a refund?

Tickets cannot be refunded within 72 hours of the event, except in cases of force majeure.

Are tickets valid for other event dates?

Tickets can be exchanged up to 72 hours before the event. Contact Fever customer service.

Do I need to print my ticket?

There's no need to print out your ticket. You just need to show the PDF document on your phone at the entrance to the hall so that staff can validate the code.

I can't find my ticket. What can I do?

You will receive your ticket in PDF format by email after purchase. You can also download it from the 'Tickets' section of the Fever app. If you haven't already installed it, you can download it from the Apple Store or Google Play. Don't forget to log in using the same account you used to purchase the tickets. If you are still unable to locate your ticket , please contact us.
