After captivating more than 300,000 spectators across France, LUMINISCENCE continues its tour and is coming to the heart of Rouen for a series of exceptional performances in the iconic Notre-Dame Cathedral. For the first time, experience a show where history, 360-degree video mapping, and live music merge to reveal this monumental structure as you’ve never seen it before. Brilliant light projections extend the cathedral, delicately highlighting every architectural detail—from its grand base to the soaring vaults nearly 30 meters above.

From the first Christians of the Roman Empire to the Gothic splendor of the 15th century, trace the rise of the cathedral that witnessed the birth of Normandy.

Act II: Light and Shadows

Illuminated by the brilliance of its stained glass windows and the genius of the artists it inspires, scarred by wars and revived by hope, Notre-Dame de Rouen stands as a guardian of Time.

Act III: The Echo of Centuries

Home to the largest carillon in France, an organ gifted by the Sun King himself, and the legacy of one of Europe’s oldest choirs, the cathedral is a masterpiece that transforms into a monument of music.

Act IV: Eternalizing

Notre-Dame de Rouen looks toward the light of the future to heal the wounds of the past, continuing its infinite quest for beauty and eternity.

Featuring a live choir

The exceptional vocal ensembles of Rouen — VOX NOCTIS (a professional choir), the Maîtrise de Saint-Évode, one of the city’s oldest choirs founded in 1377, and the Rouen Chamber Choir — under the direction of Vinicius Guimarães and Frédéric Pineau, enhance the soundtrack of LUMINISCENCE.

Experience the show in its exceptional version with immersive concerts.

Starting February 21, every Friday and Saturday, the LUMINISCENCE orchestra invites you to discover a unique musical interpretation of the show.

Under the direction of Pierre-Alexis Touzeau, the LUMINISCENCE orchestra musicians, joined by the finest choirs in the region, will revisit classical and sacred masterpieces and perform the entire soundtrack of the show live.

From Vivaldi to Fauré, with highlights from Holst, Handel, Gounod, and Vierne, these artists will transport the audience across centuries, from the Middle Ages to the present day. To fully showcase the richness of the cathedral, a three-dimensional spatial sound system will be employed, allowing the music to travel throughout the building and envelop the audience in a truly immersive auditory experience.

Its Story: The Notre-Dame Cathedral of Rouen, a masterpiece of Gothic architecture, stands on the remains of a 4th-century basilica. Reconstruction began in the 12th century and spanned several centuries, incorporating the Flamboyant Gothic style, as seen in the Tour de Beurre (Butter Tower). From 1876 to 1880, its cast-iron spire, rising to 151 meters, made it the tallest structure in the world. The cathedral suffered damage during wars, including the bombings of World War II, but it has been largely restored. A historic and religious landmark, it houses the tombs of notable figures such as Richard the Lionheart. Inspired by Claude Monet, who dedicated a famous series of paintings to it, the cathedral embodies the history and beauty of Rouen, attracting visitors from around the globe.

About the experience

What can I expect from the event?

With 360-degree video mapping and live music, LUMINISCENCE takes you on an immersive journey into the history of the Notre-Dame cathedral of Rouen. The music reverberates beautifully throughout this sacred space as projections light up the walls and bring them to life, highlighting the Cathedral’s architectural beauty. This breathtaking audiovisual spectacle reveals the Cathedral's secrets, exposing the architectural craftsmanship of its builders, its spellbinding light effects, and its extraordinary acoustics.

How long does it last?

The experience lasts around 60 minutes. It consists of an immersive journey through the Cathedral's ambulatory, followed by a seated show in the nave.

Where will it take place?

The experience will take place inside the Notre-Dame cathedral of Rouen, Place de la Cathédrale, 76000, Rouen.

What time should I arrive at the experience?

The doors will open 20 minutes before the time indicated on the ticket. No late arrivals will be accepted.

Is there an age requirement?

The experience is open to all ages, but children aged 4 and under must be seated on an adult's lap.

Is it possible to sit down?

Yes. Once the walk is over, you'll be invited to sit down in the nave to enjoy the show.

Is it possible to take photos or film videos during the experience?

Yes, you can take photos and film videos with your camera's flash switched off. However, cameras with telephoto lenses are prohibited.

Is it possible to buy food and drink on site?

No, unfortunately it is not possible to buy food and drink on site.

Will there be toilets on site?

No, but there are public toilets nearby.

No, there are no cloakrooms for public use. As the Cathedral is not heated, we recommend you keep your outdoor clothes with you.

Is the space accessible to PRMs?

Yes, the Cathedral is accessible to people with reduced mobility. If you are in a wheelchair, our team will help you easily navigate your wheelchair to the seating area.

Can I leave and return to the event?

No, all exits are final. Remember to use the toilet outside the Cathedral before the show starts.

Depending on the number of places remaining at each event, it may be possible to buy a ticket on site.

Where can I buy tickets?

Tickets will be available to purchase on the Fever website from July 11. Tickets can also be purchased via the Fever app, available on Google Play and Apple Store.

Can I change the date of my ticket? Are refunds allowed?

This experience allows you to cancel your ticket up to 72 hours in advance. It is also possible to exchange it up to 7 hours before the event.

In the "Tickets" section of the Fever App, the "Change date and/or time" button will appear. Follow the steps indicated in the link to change the date and/or time of the ticket.

You can also contact us and include the ticket ID associated with your purchase.

Are tickets valid for other event dates?

Tickets can be exchanged up to 72 hours before the event. Contact Fever customer service.

Do I need to print my ticket?

There's no need to print out your ticket. You just need to show the PDF document on your phone at the entrance to the hall so that staff can validate the code.

I can't find my ticket. What can I do?

You will receive your ticket in PDF format by email after purchase.
